Southeastern University Helps Provide A New And Fun Way To Help Missions: One Cup At A Time
LAKELAND, FL- Portico Coffeehouse is one of the busiest spots on campus, and for good reason. Portico, which means “place of fellowship,” is a fancy but affordable coffee shop where you can have quality coffee and smoothies made with an awesome reason behind the cup that goes globally. The concept of the whole coffee shop took place with a student that loved coffee and had a heart for missions around the world.
“I recently spent a summer in Washington DC at a local coffee shop called Ebenezer’s Coffee House learning how to work the machines and such,” said Naida Lindberg, the senior house manager of the café. “With the passion for missions and coffee, it just made sense to bring this to the board. Eventually, it got finalized.”
The menu at Portico coffee house consists of hot or cold pour-over coffee, blended smoothies, frappes, and old bottled soda from several vintage soda companies.
“Portico has a lot going for it. The only thing I see right now is more people discovering the same love and passion I have had for coffee and missions,” said Lindberg. “I see greater funds and projects worldwide that we will be able to support one day that 100% sponsored through Portico’s giving.”
